SEPTEMBER 2024 ECLIPSE & MOON PHASES
September’s four-phase moon cycle begins on September 2 with an 11° Virgo New Moon. To be additionally explored in depth with Talk Cosmos Archetypal Symbols panel the next week on September 1. New Moons have the sun and moon transiting at the same astrological degree, where Earth orbits between them, blocking the moon from reflecting any sunlight.Â
1st Quarter Moon appears half-lit and half-dark on opposite sides for the Northern versus Southern Hemisphere. If on the equator, either the top or bottom half lights up. The major four-phase cycle culminates with the Full Moon 180° opposite the sun. This month bringing the LUNAR ECLIPSE at 25°Pisces. The 3rd Quarter Moon, half dark and lit in the opposing side to the 1st Quarter closes the 4-phase cycle to begin new seeds for the next New Moon cycle.
MOON PHASE DATES
In this program, we include the Leo’s Moon’s 3rd Quarter occurring two days afterwards on August 26. Building with the upcoming September moon phase dates in sequence, starts with the New Moon Sept 2, 1st Quarter Sept 11, LUNAR ECLIPSE Sept 17, and 3rd Quarter Sept 24. (Note: last transit reading this past June.)
