The Final Mars-Chiron Conjunction
An inquisitive discussion on “Mars Chiron 28° Aries”. Mars joins forces with Chiron — calling us into action again. It’s the 4th and final conjunction with Mars over its long 9-year cycle from April 17, 2018 to April 14, 2027. The wound that cannot be cured becomes our greatest gift by sharing our experienced wisdom in service with others.
Chiron’s 8-year transit through Aries touches on identity at its most primal — the becoming of selfhood, the right to exist as we are. Wounds here often begin at birth itself. Globally, and Individually, the question echoes: Where do I belong to be all of me? Who belongs?
As Chiron’s 8-year transit in Aries nears its completion, this meeting falls on the Taurus New Moon. Mars empowers our will, while Taurus grounds us in emotional self-trust and self-reliance. The celestial sky map turns our focus inward: what parts of ourselves have we excluded, denied, or left wounded — and what would it mean to finally include them whole? To take what we’ve personally suffered and share it as wisdom. To use it as a lantern to help others live through their pain by walking alongside them in ours.
Turning the Wound into Wisdom
Time to witness, use, and translate our deepest internal wounds. Not to fix them, but to stop rejecting that awkward, painful space of isolation. That separates us from all of ourselves. It no longer needs to be passively hidden while nursing what seems never to heal in becoming a functional part of us.
The wound is not the end of the story. It requires a proverbial death of our rejected wounds — repurposed, transmuted. Once rejected, now accepted to be recreated to be your greatest offering. To becoming the very thing that makes us whole individuals in service to others.
By transforming into the gift we offer the world as we step into our wholeness.

TARA AAL: I’m an eclectic astrologer, writer, educator, artist, and tarot reader from Seattle — and co-author of Astrology by Moonlight and Natural Astrology. Since 2011, I’ve consulted, taught, and spoken at the Living Astrologies Conference, NORWAC, UAC, Kepler College, and ISAR. Building community is important to me. I nurture it in the small groups moving through my private classes, and Astrology Essentials program. I also facilitate workshops with colleagues Stephanie Phillips and Walter Jager weaving together Jungian ideas, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and astrology.
As an IFS-informed astrologer, my approach is human-first, embodied, imaginal, and experiential — helping us open to and deepen relationships with ourselves (our inner multiplicity) and each other. One of my great passions is Living Planets 1st, an active, living astrological ritual for bringing out the planets within and without. I currently serve as Ethics Chair for CAPISAR.
