28° Aquarius Solar Eclipse & Fire Horse

Transcript: The “Identity Reboot”

At this Aquarius Solar Eclipse Firehorse, we stand at the edge of a massive transition. The  28°Aquarius Solar Eclipse brings in the Lunar Year of the Firehorse on February 17, 2026. It arrives as a cosmic strobe light, to momentarily disrupt the status quo, as we see revealed a new path. This is an Annular “Ring of Fire” eclipse, which carries a unique spiritual signature. Unlike a total eclipse that completely masks the light, the “Ring of Fire” leaves a circle of the Sun visible. Suggesting that while the universe is reorganizing our direction, we will still maintain a level of conscious agency and own our “will” in the process.

The Aquarius Solar Eclipse Firehorse indicates a time to “listen” deep within rather than forced manifestation. An eclipse is a period of creative surrender where we step back and allow a deeper intelligence to shift our trajectory. To ready ourselves for taking big bold steps ahead as we experience the Year of the Firehorse. The Sabian Symbol (29°)  for the upcoming Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius says it all. “A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis…” We are leaving the “liminal space” and stepping into a bold, interconnected future. Every Firehorse Year brings a surge of bold, passionate energy that challenges the status quo.

This episode originally aired on 8 February on YouTube Channel @Talk Cosmos,  and is part of our ongoing series exploring the energetic cycles of 2026. 00:00:00 – 00:15:00 (Focus on the Eclipse timing and spiritual meaning)

Sue Rose Minahan: Welcome to Talk Cosmos. We are starting off a signature of huge celestial events. We have the solar eclipse in Aquarius which also spearheads the new lunar new year of the Fire Horse—an electric bridge between the past and the present.

Amanda Pierce: Eclipses are a time when our identities can temporarily step aside so a deeper intelligence can reorganize our direction. It’s a time to sit back and listen to what the universe is telling us. Eclipse time is not really the best time to try and manifest something; it’s about taking it all in. With a “Ring of Fire” (annular) eclipse, the ring of the sun is still showing, so our will and identity are still somewhat present. We have a little more agency to work with the universe in what we are going to manifest forward.

Sue: It’s a disruption of light that renews. Like a strobe, when it’s done, you notice different things in life. This happens at 28° Aquarius on February 17th.

Mental Hygiene and the Asteroid Hygeia

A critical component of this eclipse season is the movement of the asteroid Hygeia in Gemini. Currently out-of-bounds and moving direct on Valentine’s Day, Hygeia represents our “mental hygiene.” In the sign of Gemini, it asks us to scrutinize our data intake and thought patterns. Are we “doom scrolling”? Are we clinging to old mental habits that served us as children but now act as a toxic weight?

As we move toward the high-energy FireHorse year, clearing these mental ruts is essential. We cannot gallop into a new future while carrying the heavy, conditioned thinking of the past.

00:15:01 – 00:33:00 (Focus on Hygeia, retrograde planets, and mental well-being)

Sue: Hygeia has been out of bounds for the longest time, and it represents well-being. In Gemini, it’s our mental well-being—what’s toxic and what’s healthy.

Amanda: It’s like our hygiene—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. In Gemini, we’re really talking about mental hygiene. We’ve been in a retrograde period reviewing where we are thinking about things in a way that isn’t serving us. What data are we bringing in? Are you “doom scrolling” on socials? As Hygeia starts to go direct (on Valentine’s Day), it’s a good time to look at those habits and clean up that mental hygiene.

Sue: It helps us recognize where our habits emotionally protected us when we were children but are no longer useful. It takes time to bridge that difference, but Hygeia is there to help us focus.

The 6,000-Year Cycle: Saturn and Neptune at 0° Aries

Just days after the eclipse, we witness a monumental alignment: Saturn and Neptune meet at the World Point (0° Aries). This specific conjunction hasn’t occurred in this fashion for over 6,000 years, marking a massive shift in global consciousness.

Neptune brings the pioneering dream and the mystical vision, while Saturn provides the “bones” and the structure to make that dream real. At 0° Aries—the very beginning of the zodiac—this is an “alpha” moment for the planet. It is an invitation to be honest about our desires and to ground our spiritual truths into physical reality.

00:33:01 – 00:53:00 (Focus on Saturn-Neptune, Aries energy, and the World Point)

Sue: Saturn and Neptune will be at the “World Point” at 0° Aries. This hasn’t happened for 6,361 years. It’s a monumental consciousness shift.

Amanda: Neptune is dreams, so our dreams are bolder and pioneering. Saturn is the last planet we can visibly see, so it helps us ground these dreams into reality. It shows us where we need to put in the hard work. There is a lot of potential for manifesting these dreams forward when working with that Saturn principle.

Sue: Aries wants honesty. It wants to be understood where it’s coming from. Be the truth at the moment. Because this is at 0° Aries, it really is going to permeate our whole world and impact us fully.

FireHorse Wisdom: Lessons from 1906 and 1966

The Lunar New Year of the FireHorse is characterized by bold, passionate, and sometimes volatile energy. Historically, FireHorse years like 1906 and 1966 have been defined by the “liberation from dead structures.” Whether it was the literal rebuilding of San Francisco after the fires of 1906 or the social revolutions of 1966, the theme remains the same: the courage to act without waiting for a consensus.

In 2026, we are called to embody this “FireHorse” spirit—to have the courage to leave behind what is stagnant and embrace the movement and fluidity of a new era.

00:53:01 – End (Focus on historical parallels and closing thoughts)

Amanda: There are two big Fire Horse years in history: 1906 and 1966. In 1906, we had the San Francisco earthquake and uncontrolled fires. It was a literal interpretation of the Fire Horse, leading to liberation from dead structures where entire systems were wiped out and rebuilt for the future. In 1966, we had the start of big cultural revolutions—civil rights, feminist, and anti-war movements. Again, liberation from dead structures where traditional authorities were questioned.

Sue: It’s the courage to act without waiting for consensus. People stopped waiting for someone to say “go ahead” and just started doing things. We should expect to see these themes in our year ahead. Take heart, look at your charts, and be aware of that part of you that wants to reframe who you are so you can live your dreams.
